Media over QUIC contribution with Rust
Description
In this talk, I will share my practical experience of implementing the Media over QUIC protocol(s) using Rust. With a focus on technical aspects, I aim to provide insights into the challenges, strategies, and benefits of working with Rust in this domain. Additionally, I will discuss the state of the art for Media over QUIC, emphasizing its advantages for broadcast-scale ultra-low latency streaming.
During the development process, I anticipate encountering various challenges that are worth reporting on. By sharing firsthand experiences, I aim to provide valuable insights into the pros and cons of using Rust as the language for Media over QUIC implementations. Furthermore, I will address the complexities of implementing a protocol that is still in active development and provide strategies to stay in sync with evolving specifications, even when requirements are a moving target. Key points to be covered in the talk: Implementation of Media over QUIC protocols using Rust. Challenges and advantages of using Rust in the context of media streaming. Strategies for staying in sync with an evolving protocol during active development. Overview of the state of the art for Media over QUIC and its benefits for ultra-low latency streaming at broadcast scale. This talk was presented at Demuxed ’23, a conference for video nerds in San Francisco featuring amazing talks like this one.Other Proceedings
