Is now the time to solve the deepfake threat?
Description
With the increase in shareability of fake content on social media, the ease of access of deepfake technology to end users, and an increasingly divisive political landscape have come together to create the perfect landscape for the growth of deepfakes.
In this talk, we will explain why we at Amber think an explosion of deep fake content is just around the corner. We’ll then present a few of the most recent ideas that have risen to tackle this requirement, such as distributed authentication mechanisms and forensic analysis of artifacts. We’ll also present our findings in the work we’ve undertaken in implementing and testing some of these ideas. Finally, we’ll discuss some of the challenges we’ve faced in addressing the marketplace and raising awareness of this problem.
Presented at Demuxed 2019 in San Francisco.
